| Spanish
as a Second Language |
|
|
ACLAS
is famous for the immersion language courses taught to diplomats and international
executives. Spanish language classes are combined with the study of specific
topics, according to the position that the diplomats or executives will
occupy in diverse Spanish speaking countries, with cultural visits, and
living with carefully selected Ecuadorian families (optional).
|
|
|
|
As
part of the total immersion courses, the student lives with a family and
is completely exposed to Spanish and Latin American culture. The student
receives five (5) hours of classes per day. In a typical program the following
areas are included: listening comprehension and phonetic correction, grammatical
structure, directed and open conversation (in situations similar to those
encountered in daily life and during work), written production, and Ecuadorian
and Latin American culture and civilization. These courses are one on
one in which the student is the only one in the class and the only one
living with a particular Ecuadorian family.
|
|
The
four-week immersion course includes:
-Living with an Ecuadorian family for 28 days Three daily meals and laundry
service for 28 days 5 hours per day of Spanish classes (except weekends)

courses are similar to immersion ones. The only difference is that the
student does not live with a family, in the latter. ACLAS can help the
student find a hotel, a hostel, etc., according to his/her needs and can
take care of the required reservations or related matters.

|
Interpretation |
|
ACLAS
offers interpretation services for private or public meetings or conferences
that are either local or international, formal or informal.
|
Consecutive Interpretation |
|
In
this type of interpretation, the interpreter acts as a communicational
link between two participants or between a lecturer and the public that
attends a conference.
|
|
The
lecturer expresses his/her thoughts (which can be made up of two or more
sentences each time, depending on the complexity and length of each) and
the interpreter interprets them and transmits them to the public.
|
|
With
this interpretation system, the public understands what the lecturer said.
Each part of the message is transmitted in a timely manner.
