Intensive Beginning Spanish 2 - 45 contact hours
An overview of the basics of the Spanish language including grammar structures, vocabulary and pronunciation with a focus on phrasing and content related to Ecuadorian culture, travel, living with a homestay family, eating out at restaurants, giving and understanding directions and other relevant topics to students studying abroad. Students will learn to express themselves in Spanish both orally and in written communication. Comprehension of written and auditory communication will also be an important focus.
Intensive Beginning Spanish 2 - 45 contact hours
Students will expand on all of the coursework developed in Intensive Beginning Spanish 1. Continued focus on phrasing and content related to Ecuadorian culture, travel, living with a homestay family, eating out at restaurants, giving and understanding directions and other relevant topics to students studying abroad. Students will learn to express themselves in Spanish both orally and in written communication. Comprehension of written and auditory communication will also be an important focus. This course is a continuation of Intensive Beginning Spanish 1 and students must have pass with a grade “C” or better in the first course to enroll.
Intensive Intermediate Spanish 1 - 45 contact hours
This course will review of all of the grammatical structures of Spanish as well as focus on the development of all of the oral, written and comprehension (reading and auditory) skills. At this intermediate level, students will begin to be able to interact with Spanish-speakers in a natural and comfortable way. Students will interact with cultural artifacts (magazines, television, art, etc.) and people from Ecuador and learn colloquial language use of Ecuador.
Intensive Intermediate Spanish 2 - 45 contact hours
Students will expand on all of the coursework developed in Intensive Intermediate Spanish 1 including the grammatical structures and of Spanish as well as focus on the development of all of the oral, written and comprehension (reading and auditory) skills. During this course there will be a focus on fluency and comfort with speaking and understanding of Spanish and recognition of cultural aspects of Ecuador and latin america. This course is a continuation of Intensive Intermediate Spanish 1 and students must have pass with a grade “C” or better in the first course to enroll.
Intensive Advanced Spanish 1 - 45 contact hours
This course is designed for students who already have a good grasp of the structure of the Spanish language. Complex structures and phrasing will be reviewed and oral, written and comprehension (reading and auditory) skills will be expanded into more complex subjects like literature and political issues. By the end of this course students should be able to express ideas with clarity and fluidity. Aspects of latin american and ecuadorian culture will be explored.
Intensive Advanced Spanish 2 - 45 contact hours
Students will expand on all of the coursework developed in Intensive Advanced Spanish 1 including the development of all of the oral, written and comprehension (reading and auditory) skills. Students will learn to be able to utilize colloquial and formal vocabulary in order to express their ideas. By the end of this course students will be able to appropriately identify and interact in many situations in Ecuador and latin america. This course is a continuation of Intensive Advanced Spanish 1 and students must have pass with a grade “C” or better in the first course to enroll.
